I grew up on a farm in a small town in Iowa, reading my Pisces horoscope in the newspaper and feeling like it was written for me. That was the beginning. It just took 30 more years to get to Moira.
How It Started
I grew up on a farm in Iowa. I wanted to live in a big city and work in advertising since I was in the eighth grade. I always loved art and anything creative. And at a young age, I discovered that my horoscope was Pisces and I immediately related to every horoscope I read. I would search them out in magazines and newspapers whenever I could. Growing up in the eighties, there was not much available on horoscopes beyond what you read in a newspaper. But I read every one I could find.
I spent my career in advertising, building agencies and working with global brands. I had the career I had been dreaming of since I was a kid. But somewhere along the way, I started searching for something deeper. I explored every system I could find. Astrology, Human Design, Gene Keys, numerology, meditation, Reiki. I was devouring every tool, every reading, every system. But nothing pulled it all together into something I could actually use in my life.

What I Believe
I believe that self knowledge is not a luxury. It is the foundation of a life well lived. When you know yourself, truly know yourself, you stop fighting your nature. You stop apologizing for your needs. You stop performing a life that is not yours. You begin to weave the life that is.
I believe that the mystical and the practical are not opposites. They are two ends of the same thread. The mystical tells you who you are. The practical tells you what to do about it. Moira does both.
I believe that one system is not enough. You are not one thing. You are a whole person with an architecture, an operating system, a spectrum of expression, a rhythm, an animal nature, and a soul image. One system sees one part of you. Seven systems see the whole.
And I believe that a reading should sound like a person, not a platform. It should sound like your best friend, not a brand. It should sound like someone who knows you and cares about you and wants you to live well. That is the voice I wanted from every reading I ever got, and that is the voice I built into Moira.
Depth over speed
We would rather be deep than fast. We would rather be right than first. Every reading takes the time it takes to say what needs saying.
Practice over theory
Knowing is not enough. Every insight comes with a practice. Every reading ends with "So what do I do?" and then answers it.
Warmth over cool
We are not trying to be the coolest app. We are trying to be the warmest one. The one that feels like a friend, not a feed.

Where It Goes From Here
Moira is just beginning. I have a vision for what it can become, but it will grow the way every living thing grows: by responding to what it encounters. By listening to the people who use it. By weaving what we learn into what we build.
